"Cows in the kitchen"

Animals are one of the most attractive topics for children. They enjoy drawing, looking or imitating them. Every animal is different and pupils identify with some, especially when we are working with domestic animals or pets. For all this, I am going to recommend you the following book: "Cows in the kitchen", by Bruce Lansky.

It can be sounded a mad story and, really, it is. Animals are going to enter into home and it is going to be complicated to take them out from there. Students enjoy much this story because they have to repeat many sentences and reproduce several onomatopoeias. It is great because they help you to tell the story and finally, they know it by heart.

Here you have a song that I use to sing with my pupils when we finish to read "Cows in the kitchen". It's simply great!

"The very hungry caterpillar"

I'm sure that you know "The very hungry caterpillar", by Eric Carle. It has been a revolution for Literature's world!

This special book combines a sequenced story, starring a caterpillar, with wonderful appearances of several elements. Besides this, the colorful and imperfect pictures invite you to a fantastic world. Maybe, it reminds me to "Alice in the Wonderland" because, sometimes it results like a little crazy travel.

Here you have some photos of the book and a link of a video. This book is perfect to little children (Pre-Primary School or first years of Primary). You can use it for introduce Food vocabulary, explain the metamorphosis, bring children near to the nature... or, simply, have a great time!

Even, you can find the pop-up version of the story.

Welcome!

Welcome, dear lovers of Education and Children's Literature!

I am very excited! For a long time I had in mind to create a space where I could store and show all those experiences that stories give us. The truth is that my job takes a lot of time. All teachers know this 😃

Finally, here I am! I decided to delve into the "virtual world" that produces me some insecurity, because of I am one of those teachers who enjoy a paper and a pen, a blackboard and a live look. But digital competition forces us to upgrade! And, why not, let's take advantage of it and make this relationship a productive link for both. Soon, I will publish new posts in which you will understand what has prompted me to create this space, which I have entitled "Claudia's Little Classroom".

I hope that this blog can help you and show new forms to work in class with your pupils.

So, welcome to my little classroom...

Thank you for staying here and enjoy your visit.

Claudia ❤
